Yes tomorrow is payday. I get my check today and it is electronically deposited tomorrow. Payday is everyones favorite day of the week. Generally payday is at the end of the week so that helps because people are anticipating the upcoming weekend. Today I received my check and looked at it and a new thought ran through my mind; to my shame, the thought should have come long, long, before today. I opened my check and saw how much it was and thought, "Wow! God has entrusted me with this much money. I am to use this in a way that advances His kingdom more. This is His money." I've known that for a while, but today it was lain on my heart at the right time; when I received my check. I read in a book not too long ago, while doing a bible study through spiritual disciplines, about giving. It said, "We shouldn't ask ourselves, 'how much of my money should I give to God." But instead, "How much of God's money should I keep for myself.'" That puts it perfectly in the right perspective.
With money, or anything, it all belongs to God. He has entrusted us with these things. What a sobering thought. The God of all the universe has trusted me with all the things I have. So when I don't use them in a way that brings Him glory I am trading on that trust.
It's like this; You allow someone to borrow your vehicle. They need one but you need them to do a few things with it as well. Say you need them to run a couple of errands throughout the week because now you are one vehicles less. So you tell them, "I'm trusting you with this. But if you would please run by the grocery store once a week and pick up groceries to bring here." Then if they take it and keep up with it and do exactly as you wish, you will be happy with them. You will have no problem entrusting them with more down the road, because they have proven themselves trustworthy. But if the person takes your vehicle and does his own thing with no regards to you or your property, you have to call him because he is never there with your groceries. He doesn't change the oil, he rags your vehicle out, and by the time you do get it back (because you asked him for it back) it is destroyed. You will never trust him with anything of yours again, unless first he proves very very faithful with little menial things, then he may be able to build back up to where he was.
So it is the same with God. He entrusts us with little things, and then greater things. Be faithful with the small things He has given you. They are His to do what He wants with them. You have no say so in the way the things are used. If someone allows me to borrow a car to go back and fourth to work, I'm going to ask them permission if I need to go anywhere else. So why isn't it the same with Gods things, the things He has trusted me with, or let me "borrow?" If I want to go out and buy a new rifle with some of the money God has loaned to me while on earth, do I not need to first go and make sure that is according to Gods plan for that money.
I am so very thankful that God has found it according to His glory to trust me with the things I have. The God of all creation has found it right to trust a sinner with His things. I pray I meet up to the task, and be a good steward of these things God has given me; the life I have, the money I have, the things I have, and everything, may I honor the Lord of all with every bit of it.

Ironically, this post on your payday has funded my Christmas! I am collecting the money from my bets.
Thank you, thank you.
